Welcome to the "Thrifty Flipper" Summer Experience, tailor-made for the 12 - 16 age crowd who think they've outgrown summer camps but are looking for a break from spending their summer at home bored.
This isn't your typical camp; it's a creative haven for teens to transform thrift store finds into bespoke treasures. We'll walk to the thrift store together, hunting for that perfect item screaming for a makeover and then bring it back to life with your own twist. With bleach painting, you'll turn ordinary jeans or a sweatshirt into a galaxy of stars. Silk screening will see your plain tees become canvases for your wildest designs.
Sublimation? Let's just say you can make any personalized label you can think of. And yes, we're making buttons out of resin – because who doesn't want to sew their personality on everything they own?
Projects are still being determined. The pictures are from previous recycling camp!
We provide all the materials, tools and the use of our sewing machines. No sewing experience necessary. Bring your lunch and drinks. We will be walking to the local park for a 1 hour lunch. If necessary bring a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, etc. If you have any questions, please email or call prior to registering. If its wet outside, please bring indoor shoes.
Sewists must already be 12 of years of age. Please write in the notes, your child's name and age. Thank you!
